Orcadian Connections

 

The first Cromarty settlement was at Garay just to the north of St Margaret's Hope on South Ronaldsay, Orkney. This farm was later renamed 'Cara' and still stands today. (photo)  Other Cromarty properties surrounding Cara include South Cara (photo). 

A second branch of the family bought land at Kirbister (photo), South Walls just off the island of Hoy.
