LINE Son William born c. 1862. Admitted to St Augustine’s Orphanage (Newtown, Geelong, Victoria) April 29, 1871, aged 9. Record states ‘Father dead, was a miner and a Catholic. Mother was an Irish Catholic. Returned to his mother Mary, January 1, 1873.' It may be this William who married Catherine NORQUAY. Son James born c. 1863. Admitted to St Augustine’s Orphanage April 29, 1871, aged 8. Record states ‘Father dead, was a miner and a Catholic. Mother was an Irish Catholic. Returned to his mother Mary, January 1, 1873.' This James may have married Harriot SWELL. Son Gilbert born Great Western, Victoria 1867. Admitted to St Augustine’s Orphanage April 29, 1871, aged 4. Record states ‘Father dead, was a miner and a Catholic. Mother was an Irish Catholic. Returned to his mother Mary', probably same date as William & James. Catherine born 1867, (parents Peter BORELLA (labourer) & Anne GOODES (Gardener)). Died 1897 (note only 30 years old at death, with children aged 4 & 2).
