William Cromarty (14-1)

Son of William Cromarty (13-4) & Christina Fiddler. 

William was born in 1852 in Olrig, Caithness.   Some time prior to 1885 he went to Victoria, Australia.  On September 12, 1885 he married Elizabeth Crowley at Richmond, Victoria. (Reg. No. 4848). 

Marriage Certificate details show: Entry 207 for Marriages in the District of Richmond, Victoria, 1885.  Where & When married: 2 Gwynne Street, Richmond, 12 September 1885.  

William Cromarty: Birthplace - Caithness, Scotland.  Occupation - Baker.  Age - 26.  Residence - Queen Street, Melbourne.  Parents - William Cromarty (Labourer) & Christina Fidler (sometimes shown as Fiddler). 

Elizabeth Mary Crowley: Birthplace - Chilton, Victoria.  Occupation - Domestic.  Age - 24.  Residence - 2 Gwynne Street, Richmond (usual - South Yarra).  Parents - John Crowley & Mary Dunn.

Officiated by Andrew Hardie, Presbyterian Minister Richmond.  Witnesses - John Crowley & Mary White.    

William died in Berwick, Victoria in 1929.(8403).   Elizabeth also died in 1929.  

Three children have been identified:

Christina Fiddler Elizabeth (15-1), born 1886   

William (15-2),  born  November 8, 1887 at Curzon Street, West Hotham (Reg. No. 29314).

Elizabeth (15-3), born 1892.
